Nepal, Belgium discuss cooperation in climate change, sustainable development goals

Nepal and Belgium have discussed cooperation on global issues including climate change and sustainable development goals.
During the second meeting of the Nepal-Belgium Bilateral Consultation Mechanism held in Belgium on Thursday, officials from the two countries took stock of all aspects of bilateral relations and exchanged views on further promoting cooperation between the two countries.
Nepal Embassy in Brussels in a statement said the two sides discussed various ways of enhancing cooperation in the areas of trade, tourism and investment and promoting people-to-people contacts.
Nepal shared about the country’s graduation from the least developed countries status in 2026 and the preparation of transition strategy and requested for the continuation of support measures provided by Belgium as well as the European Union in terms of market access and development cooperation, according to the statement.
