Nepal Telecom services were abruptly disrupted on Tuesday afternoon causing inconvenience to the users for about an hour.

The state-owned telecom operator said that services were disrupted at around 12 noon due to a technical glitch in the system.

Shobhan Adhikari, spokesperson of Nepal Telecom said that the technical glitch in the system interrupted the network for 15 minutes at 12 pm on Tuesday.

“Sudden increase in the network traffic caused disturbances in the network for about an hour. The glitch was soon fixed,” Adhikari said.

Voice and SMS services, as well as data services, were down.

Nepal Telecom has 21.56 million voice telephony subscribers up until mid-October, according to the management information system report of the authority.
