Election Commission submits final results of provincial assembly elections

The Election Commission on Saturday submitted the final results of the provincial assembly elections to provincial heads of all seven provinces.
A team including the chief election commissioner, commissioners, secretary and joint secretary of the commission handed over separate reports to the office of the provincial heads.
A team led by Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Kumar Thapaliya submitted the report to Province 1 head, commissioner Sugan Shamsher Rana to Madhesh, Secretary Gokarnamani Duwadi to Bagmati, Commissioner Ishwari Prasad Poudel to Gandaki, Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari to Lumbini, Joint Secretary Yagya Prasad Bhattarai to Karnali and Commissioner Janaki Kumari Tuladhar to Sudurpashim province head.
According to Kamal Bhattarai, assistant spokesperson for the Election Commission, the teams also made public the details of the provincial assembly elections through a press conference.
The Election Commission on Thursday submitted the final results of the House of Representatives elections to President Bidya Devi Bhandari.
As per the legal provisions, the commission sends the election results report, under both first-past-the-post and proportional representation, of the House of Representatives to the President and the provincial assembly results to the provincial heads within seven days of the announcement.
The poll body, amid a press conference on Wednesday, had announced the final results of the House of Representatives and provincial assembly members’ elections.
