Chairperson of Malarani Rural Municipality-3, Jiwan Chauhan, has died in an accident. The 52-year-old breathed his last during the course of treatment on Thursday, according to family sources.

Chauhan was receiving medical treatment in Bharatpur Medical College after he was seriously injured in an accident while on his way to Arghakhanchi from Butwal on December 12. He had undergone a head surgery.

Earlier, he was elected as the chairman of then Khanadaha VDC.

He was known as a development lover politician in Khanadaha. He was also a member of CPN-UML’s district secretariat.  

Chauhan is survived by two sons, two daughters and a wife.

Shocked by the news of his son’s accident, Chauhan’s father had fallen unconscious and later died on December 14.
