Forty students have been injured when a bus carrying students met with an accident at Sukrauli, Nawalparasi on Friday.
The accident took place at around 10 this morning when the students of Bharatpur Metropolitan-16 based Dev Jyoti Aadharbhut School were heading for an educational tour.
The bus lost control and fell into a roadside pond at Ramgran-15 along Bhmahi-Bhairabha road stretch. Locals rushed to the accident site and rescued the students and teachers form the pool.
Five of the injured are said to have sustained serious injuries and have been taken to Bharatpur for treatment.
Those with minor injuries have been treated at district hospital Parasi. The students were heading for an educational tour to Lumbini.
