With the establishment of administrative service centre in Tulsipur, the residents of Tulsipur and 13 nearby VDCs are pleased that they no longer have to travel to Ghorahi, the district headquarters, from now on.

Inaugurating the service centre, Chief Judge Shambhu Bahadur Khadka of the District Appellate Court said that the centre would save time as well as money.

Chief District Officer (CDO) Loknath Poudel said that the government’s decentralisation policy was positive and stressed for its development throughout the country.

Stating that the extended service centre would not affect the offices in Ghorahi in anyway, local Bikiran Gautam of Ghorahi-10 said, that people living in any part of the country should have easy access to government services. The service should be extended to remote areas of the country as well, he added.

Services offered by the land revenue and survey offices in Gulariya, the district headquarters of Bardiya, will be extended to Rajapur on April 15.

Due to the centralisation of administrative services at the district headquarters, locals from 11 VDCs located across the Karnali river had been facing trouble getting access to the facilities since long.

After the establishment of the extended service centre, over 200,000 locals are expected to have easy access to the facilities, said Bardiya’s CDO Binod Bahadur Kunwar.

“To think that the extension of government services outside the district headquarters would affect businesses and to protest against it is irrational,” said Amar Bahadur Khadka, chairman of Gulariya Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
