Islington College adds MBA and MScIT degree
Islington College, the first college in the country to start foreign degree course, has added Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and Masters in Science and Information Technology courses with the affiliation from the UK based London Metropolitan University. Both the programme were lunched amid a ceremony organised in the Capital on Friday in the presence of the representatives from the university and Alibaba Group, China and University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC), Thailand which are the training partners of the college.

Both the programme were lunched amid a ceremony organised in the Capital on Friday in the presence of the representatives from the university and Alibaba Group, China and University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC), Thailand which are the training partners of the college.
The two years—four semesters—will have 20 students in each programme. According to Sulav Budhathoki, chief executive officer of the college, the students pursuing the MBA course will get the international degree in their homeland along with two weeks of opportunity to be trained on e-commerce and executive leadership at Alibaba Group China and UTCC Thailand.
“The MBA course has been designed and developed to provide students an opportunity to understand the global market and equip them with skills to expand Nepalese business beyond borders also easing the process of establishing an innovative business venture in Nepal”, he said.
The college operators claim the international exposure will provide students an opportunity to meet the potential business partners and establish business relationship with the key suppliers. Furthermore, the college will also offer HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) Level 3 Chinese course which will add value in expanding the network and establishing the business relationship. The MBA course will cost Rs 850,000 with the international exposure and Rs 550,000 with the exposure visit.
