A Nepali woman and a child were found dead at a home in Ashkanasy Avenue, Pascoe Vale, Melbourne.

The identities of the woman, aged around 35, and the child, 3, believed to be the daughter of the woman, have not been officially confirmed.

Police was called to the scene after neighbours heard a man, reported to be the dead woman's husband, screaming and running outside after finding the dead bodies at around 5pm Sunday, media reports said.

The exact cause of the deaths has not been determined but reports said police have not suspected anyone in connection with the incident.

Nepali embassy in Canberra and Consulate General in Melbourne said they have not received information about the incident and are coordinating with authorities to gather details.
