Businessmen, expressing their solidarity in the protests, have closed their shops in Damauli bazaar.
Locals and businessmen obstructed the Prithivi Highway since 8 am this morning saying that police barged into Hotel Machapuchre that was closed at around 7 pm yesterday evening and beat up owner Lalu Gurung and a motorcyclist. Gurung is receiving medical treatment at Pokhara.
Meanwhile, police fired several rounds of teargas to disperse the crowd.
Earlier, one Roshan Dura, 18, of Byas-1, Bhadgaun succumbed to bullet injuries while undergoing treatment at Pokhara-based Manipal hospital. Likewise, Kiran Gurung, 28, Suraj Sunar, 18, and Keshav Neupane were injured during the police firing and are receiving treatment at Fabcity and Manipal hospital.
