Curfew imposed in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur
Authorities ban movement and gatherings in key areas.

Authorities have imposed curfews in different areas of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts on Tuesday following Monday’s violent clashes.
The Kathmandu District Administration Office announced a curfew inside the Ring Road area from 8:30am until further notice. The restriction covers the entire area inside the Ring Road, including Balkumari Bridge, Koteshwar, Sinamangal, Gaushala, Chabahil, Narayan Gopal Chowk, Gongabu, Balaju, Swayambhu, Kalanki, Balkhu and the Bagmati Bridge.
The Lalitpur District Administration Office imposed a curfew from 9am to midnight on Tuesday. Chief District Officer Suman Ghimire said the order applies to parts of wards 2, 4, 9, 18 and 25, including Bhaisepati, Sanepa and Chyasal.
Bhaktapur District Administration Office also issued a curfew from 8:30am until further notice. Chief District Officer Namraj Ghimire stated that the restriction covers areas in Madhyapur Thimi, Suryabinayak, Changunarayan, and Bhaktapur municipalities. The order prohibits all movement, gatherings, rallies, processions, meetings and sit-ins within specified zones. Authorities said the curfews are enforced under Section 6(3) of the Local Administration Act, 1971.
