Heavy rainfall disrupts roads in Sindhupalchok
Landslides triggered by heavy rainfall have disrupted roads at various places in Sindhupalchowk district. Efforts are underway to resume the disrupted roads.The landslide debris blocking the Barabise-Tatopani road section under the Arniko Highway was being cleared off. Similarly, one-way traffic in another disrupted road at Jure in Ramche has been brought into operation, according to Bishwa Adhikari, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the District Police Office, Sindhupalchowk.
The rain is reported to have resulted in fallen trees in various places alongside the road at Chautara-Bandeu, causing the halt of the traffic temporarily. Similarly, effort to open the Balefi-Jalbire road section was also underway.
DSP Adhikari shared that the Bailey bridge constructed by the Nepal Army last year above the Sunkoshi River has subsided a meter due to the swollen river.
Locals in the Sunkoshi River panicked and moved to safer place at last night when the River was temporarily blocked by the flood following the rain. RSS
