Pen-down in Gorkha to protest misbehaviour with LDO

Various civil servant organisations issued press statements on Thursday and announced their decision to stage a pen-down strike against Wednesday’s incident of misbehavior involving LDO Prem Raj Giri. Dozens of service seekers were hit hard due to the strike of civil employees.
A programe of district council convened for today has also become uncertain following the tussle.
VDC Rights Protection Forum Chairman Ganesh Bhakta Tripathi said the VDCs decided to halt their work to express solidarity with the DDC’s protest. “We condemn the misbehavior with the employees,” said Tripathi.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and Rastriya Prajatantra Party have issued press statements to denounce the misbehavior with LDO.
A group of UCPN (Maoist) cadres had allegedly misbehaved with LDO Giri at his office on Wednesday following a tussle over inviting UCPN (M) leader Baburam Bhattarai as the chief guest of a programme slated for today.
The employees of Local Development Office have accused the UCPN (Maoist) cadres including district chairman Lekh Bahadur Thapa. The district council meeting has been put off indefinitely after the misbehavour.
