Birendranagar Municipality in Surkhet had decided to close schools for a week starting from Sunday due to scorching heat.
According to Dhirendra Prasad Sharma, education unit chief of the municipality, the local unit decided to halt class in both the community and institutional schools as students started falling ill and the teaching/learning environment was greatly affected with the rise of temperature over the past few days.
