Nepal reports 395 new Covid-19 cases, seven deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,434 and the number of active cases stands at 9,123.Post Report
Nepal on Wednesday reported 395 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 813,828.
Similarly, 52 people tested positive in a total of 3,336 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Wednesday, 4,441,934 PCR and 671,824 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 6,577 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported seven Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,434. The number of active cases stands at 9,123.
According to the ministry, 793,271 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 439 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 175 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 131 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 27 in Lalitpur and 17 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 61 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 13 in Province 2, 212 in Bagmati, 61 in Gandaki, 36 in Lumbini, three in Karnali and nine in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, three districts are home to more than 500 active cases each; nine other districts host more than 200 active cases each while Mugu and Humla districts have zero active cases.
On Wednesday, 223 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 59-19 in Province 1, 32 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, four in Lumbini, and one each in Karnali and in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Tuesday reported 422 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths. Similarly, 441 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths were reported on Monday and 376 new coronavirus cases and eight deaths were reported on Sunday.
