Nepal reports 663 new Covid-19 cases, 12 deaths
According to the Health Ministry, the countrywide death toll has now reached 11,243 and the number of active cases stands at 14,787.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 663 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 802,861.
Similarly, 122 people tested positive in a total of 4,962 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 4,296,171 PCR and 619,924 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 7,233 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 12 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 11,243. The number of active cases stands at 14,787.
According to the ministry, 776,831 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 888 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 295 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 191 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 78 in Lalitpur and 26 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 147 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 18 in Province 2, 346 in Bagmati, 60 in Gandaki, 60 in Lumbini, one in Karnali and 31 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, seven districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 17 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Monday, 314 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 111-37 in Province 1, 64 in Bagmati, two in Gandaki, four in Lumbini, two each in Karnali in Sudurpaschim—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 565 new coronavirus cases and 1o deaths. Similarly, 636 new coronavirus cases and 11 deaths were recorded on Saturday and 715 new coronavirus cases and 10 deaths were reported on Friday.
