With 2,391 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 682,947
The Health Ministry reports 25 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army.Post Report
Nepal on Monday reported 2,391 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 682,947.
Similarly, 1,030 people tested positive in a total of 5,032 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry.
As of Monday, 3,551,323 PCR and 294,761 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 12,240 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.
In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 25 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates.
The countrywide death toll has now reached 9,738. The number of active cases stands at 27,908.
According to the ministry, 645,301 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; 1,686 of them in the last 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 999 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of these, 677 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 197 in Lalitpur and 125 in Bhaktapur.
In the past 24 hours, 613 new infections were recorded in Province 1, 41 in Province 2, 1,362 in Bagmati, 214 in Gandaki, 142 in Lumbini, 5 in Karnali and 14 in Sudurpaschim.
According to the data released by the ministry, 11 districts are home to more than 500 active cases each and 22 other districts host more than 200 active cases each.
On Monday, 669 individuals infected with the virus were being treated in intensive care units across the country. Another 166—44 in Province 1, 93 in Bagmati, 17 in Gandaki, eight in Lumbini and one in Sudurpaschim and three in Karnali—were on ventilator support.
Nepal on Sunday reported 1,539 new cases and 18 Covid-19 related deaths. Similarly, 2,309 new coronavirus cases and 16 deaths were recorded on Saturday and 1,982 new coronavirus cases and 18 new deaths were recorded on Friday.
