Nepal on Wednesday reported three more Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 2,020. The country also recorded 283 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 270,375 with 3,286 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 265,069 infected people have recovered from the disease so far; of them 246 in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 145 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 122 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 14 in Lalitpur and nine in Bhaktapur.
As of Tuesday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 126,347. While Kathmandu has reported 495 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 160 and 115 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 990 individuals from Bagmati Province, 284 from Lumbini Province, 226 from Province 1, 219 from Province 2, 209 from Gandaki Province, 65 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 27 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Wednesday, 2,057,069 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 4,382 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, two new infections were reported in Province 1, five in Province 2 and 214 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim reported 23, 29, and 10 cases respectively.
While Kathmandu has more than 500 active cases, Kalikot, Rukum (West) and Mugu districts do not have any active cases, according to the ministry.
While 139 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 23 others—14 in Bagmati Province, six in Gandaki and three in Lumbini—are on ventilator support.
