Nepal reports 13 more Covid-19-related fatalities to take the death toll to 1,202; national tally reaches 206,353 with 2,111 new infections
While 387 individuals infected with the virus are being treated in intensive care units across the country, 87 others are on ventilator support, according to the Health Ministry.Post Report
Nepal on Friday reported 13 Covid-19-related fatalities, pushing the death toll to 1,202. The country also recorded 2,111 new cases.
The overall infection tally has reached 206,353 with 37,022 active cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 3,537 infected people recovered in the past 24 hours.
Kathmandu Valley recorded 1,207 new infections in the past 24 hours. Of them, 919 cases were confirmed in Kathmandu, 180 in Lalitpur and 108 in Bhaktapur.
As of Friday, the number of confirmed cases in the Valley has reached 95,016. While Kathmandu has reported 296 Covid-19-related fatalities so far, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur have recorded 81 and 76 deaths respectively.
According to the ministry, 596 individuals from Bagmati Province, 171 from Lumbini Province, 169 from Province 2, 154 from Province 1, 70 from Gandaki Province, 28 from Sudurpaschim Province, and 14 from Karnali Province have died of Covid-19 so far.
As of Friday, 1,593,850 PCR tests have been carried out across the country.
A total of 9,533 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the data released by the ministry.
In the past 24 hours, 314 new infections were reported in Province 1, 75 in Province 2, and 1,346 in Bagmati Province.
Similarly, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces reported 155, 144, eight and 69 cases.
Fourteen districts—Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Kavre, Kaski, Nawalparasi (East), Dang, Rupandehi, Palpa and Kailali—have more than 500 active cases. Manang is the only district that does not have any active case, according to the ministry.

Nepal on Thursday reported 15 Covid-19-related deaths and 1,913 new infections compared to 26 deaths and 2,569 new infections on Wednesday and 22 deaths and 2,736 new infections on Tuesday.
