Police have arrested a 56-year-old man on charge of murder.

Byas Municipality-5 local Shree Prasad Ale has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife Gita Ale, 47, by shooting her, police said.

As per the preliminary investigation by the police, the incident occurred at around 11pm on Tuesday after an argument broke out between the couple.

Gita, who was seriously injured in the attack, was rushed to Damauli Hospital where she succumbed to the injuries, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohan Bahadur Khand.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
