Nepal U-20 women’s football team to leave for Dhaka today
The team will compete in the SAFF U-20 featuring India, Bhutan and Bangladesh.Sports Bureau
Nepal’s U-20 National Women’s football team left for Bangladesh to compete in the SAFF U-20 Women’s Championship to be held from February 3 to 9 at the BSSS Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka.
The tournament is set to feature India, Bhutan, Nepal and hosts Bangladesh. It will be played in a round robin format and the top two finishers will compete in the title decider.
Nepal will play against Bangladesh in their opening match on February 3 and Bhutan on February 5 before wrapping up the group stage against India, on February 7. The final will take place on February 9.
Yam Gurung is the coach of the Nepali team being captained by Preeti Rai.
All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) ANFA Acting President and Senior Vice President Bir Bahadur Khadka, Vice President Birat Jung Shahi and General Secretary Kiran Rai were among those who bade farewell to the team at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato on Tuesday.
