Nepal thump Sri Lanka 6-0 in SAFF Women’s U-19

Nepali women’s team registered a thumping 6-0 victory over Sri Lanka in the SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship in Dhaka on Wednesday to pull off their first victory.
After playing a 0-0 draw against hosts Bangladesh in their opening match on Saturday, Nepal netted three times in each half over bottom-placed Sri Lanka. Rashmi Kumari Ghising struck twice while Sabita Rana Magar, Rajani Thokar, Menuka Ale Magar and Saloni Rana Magar added one each.
Nepal and Bangladesh are jointly on top of the standings with four points after two matches in the five-team tournament that also features India and Bhutan. India have three points from one match, Bhutan three points from two matches and Sri Lanka are pointless from three matches.
The teams finishing on top two positions at the end of the round robin league will vie in the final.
