Hard Rock Cafe officially opens in Kathmandu
Nepal’s first-ever Hard Rock Cafe is now open in Kathmandu’s Durbarmarg.Post Report
Hard Rock International (HRI), a globally recognised company in 68 countries spanning 241 locations, officially opened its franchise cafe in the heart of Kathmandu, Durbarmarg, on October 28, 2021.
As a part of their promotional event, Hard Rock Cafe Kathmandu held a press meet on Wednesday where Malcolm Chao (area vice president for Asia-Pacific, Hard Rock Cafe International) and Sanjib Tuladhar (local franchise partner of the cafe) expressed their enthusiasm in bringing the franchise to Nepal.
“Hard Rock Cafe is not just limited to food and beverage; it is a lifestyle brand,” says Malcolm. “To make this lifestyle brand sustainable, we are targeting the tourists that come to Nepal and also focusing on the local market, where the middle-class population is growing.”
The cafe will host live music daily and acoustic brunch on Saturdays. It also hopes to promote local musical talent. According to the cafe's management team, the establishment has a seating capacity for 260 individuals. The cafe features a US-inspired menu and hand-crafted cocktails. The cafe also has a dedicated outlet where guests can buy official Hard Rock merchandise.
