Aasif Sheikh has become the first batter to score a double century in Nepal’s domestic cricket.
Opening for the Armed Police Force Club in the PM Cup on Monday at Narayani Cricket Stadium in Birgunj, he smashed 208 off 142 balls against Madhesh Province before retiring out. His innings included 17 sixes and 15 fours.
Aasif had already hit a century in the ongoing edition, scoring 114 against Bagmati Province in Mulpani earlier in the tournament.
He surpassed Pradeep Airee’s previous record in domestic competitions, set in 2018 when he made 158 for APF against Madhesh Province in Kirtipur.
