Pashupatinath sees influx of sadhus and devotees ahead of Shivaratri
Pilgrims from across Nepal and India gather at temple as festival approaches.
Post Report
As Shivaratri approaches, the premises of Pashupatinath Temple have witnessed an influx of sadhus, babas and devotees from across the country and beyond over the past few days.
The temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is a major spiritual hub, particularly during Shivaratri, one of the most significant festivals in the Hindu calendar.
On Friday, the area around the temple remained busy, with pilgrims arriving early to take part in rituals and prayers. Domestic and international visitors gathered to seek blessings. Babas from India were prominently visible, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The surrounding area has seen a noticeable rise in the number of babas, who are traditionally associated with Shivaratri celebrations and often draw the attention of pilgrims and tourists alike.
Shivaratri, observed as one of the most sacred nights in the Vedic calendar, falls on February 15 this year. Authorities expect a large turnout of devotees at the temple.
