Roads in the Kathmandu Valley remained largely deserted on Tuesday as public vehicles stayed off the roads for a second consecutive day, causing hardship for commuters.
According to Deepak Giri, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, a limited number of public vehicles operated on Tuesday. “Compared to Monday, a few more public vehicles were seen today,” he said.
Despite an agreement reached late Monday night between the federal government and transport entrepreneurs to write to the Gandaki Province to defer the enforcement of the ride-sharing directive, transport operators continued their strike on Tuesday.
