Farmers in Yoshikhel, Bhaktapur, are busy in the traditional process of cleaning and drying harvested paddy. They toss the grains into the air to separate the chaff from the rice.
The grains are spread out on large tarps in open spaces, allowing them to dry under the sun. Women are actively involved, using hand tools to spread and gather the rice while working together as a community. This collective process ensures the paddy is prepared for storage on time and consumption or sale later on.
