Police on Sunday arrested scores of victims of cooperatives from Maitighar Mandala as they obstructed the road to take out a rally.

The protesters carried placards and banners with various slogans demanding to take action against owners of cooperatives failing to return money to the depositors and those on the run and resolve issues of the depositors among others.

The rally which started from Maitighar reached New Baneshwar and turned into a corner assembly.

Victims of cooperatives have been staging a sit-in at Maitighar for the past few weeks pleading with the authorities to help them get their savings back.
