Scores take to streets demanding action against refugee scammers
People from various walks of life demonstrate in Kathmandu demanding the government bring guilty in corruption cases to book.

A group of people protested at Naxal in Kathmandu on Saturday demanding that the government bring all the guilty in Bhutanese refugee scam and other corruption cases to book.
Scores of people from various walks of life assembled at Narayanchaur, an open field, carrying placards and chanting slogans that alert the authorities against sparing anyone involved in the scams. Politicians, civil society members, professionals and people from various sectors and age groups were present during the demonstrations.
The protesters were seen handing over flowers to security personnel to thank Nepal Police for arresting those accused in the Bhutanese refugee scam. Police so far have arrested 12 people including a former home minister and a former home secretary.
Former Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, former Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane and civil society leaders also joined the protest.
People have taken to the streets of late to pressure the government to carry out an independent probe into everyone involved in the fake Bhutanese refugee scam and other corruption cases.
Earlier on the day, scores of people gathered at Maitighar in the capital city for the same cause.
