Patients visiting hospitals have been severely affected on Sunday due to the strike by doctors.

Patients who had travelled from remote villages were seen writhing in discomfort and unsure of whether to return or continue to wait for the strike to be called off.

Doctors have halted services at all hospitals across the country, except for emergency care, in protest against police assault on a doctor. An emergency meeting of the central executive committee of the Nepal Medical Association held on Saturday decided to halt the services both in government and private hospitals.
