Displaced people from different countries who have taken refuge in Nepal staged a protest outside the United Nations Nepal office in Pulchok, Lalitpur on Monday.
At the sit-in protest, urban refugees carried placards demanding their fundamental rights and needs be met.
They complain that the Nepal government does not grant them refugee status due to which they are barred from exercising fundamental rights such as employment.
Stating that they are in financial trouble after the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Nepal cut off monthly funding support, they have put forward an eleven-point demand.
