International Day of Persons with Disabilities observed
A programme was organised to mark the day at Nepal Disabled Association Khagendra New Life Home in Jorpati, Kathmandu.Post Report
On Thursday, the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities was observed all around the world with the theme "Building Back Better: Toward a disability-inclusive, Accessible and sustainable post Covid-19 World”.
The day aims to raise awareness about issues related to people with disabilities as well as to promote their equal participation in every sector, formation of policies in the areas of disability issues, and their inclusion in the decision making process to ensure that they can live a decent life.

Though Nepal has made significant strides by introducing and implementing policies in the area of disability issues, much is yet to be done.
A musical event, wheelchair race and breaking the pot game were organised to mark the day at the Nepal Disabled Association Khagendra New Life Home in Jorpati, Kathmandu.
