Nepali Embassy in China organised a ceremony in San Li Tun, Beijing of China to mark Nepali New Year 2075 BS.
Addressing the function on Saturday, Nepali Ambassador to China Leela Mani Paudyal extended his New Year greetings to all the Nepalis. Recalling the historic elections recently held in Nepal and 19th National Congress of Communist Party of China, Ambassador Paudyal said that Nepal and China added important avenues in Sino-Nepal relations last year and committed to take the relations to a new height in the future.
Chief Guest of the ceremony, China Association for Friendship President Chen Zhimin said that he was honored to jointly celebrate the Nepali New Year. He said that Nepal’s cooperation in Belt and Road Initiative will foster the national development and movement of people between the two countries. He wished all Nepali people happy and healthy life in the coming year.
The event featured various cultural shows, where Nepali and Chinese students of various universities of China showcased diverse culture of Nepal including folk dance, patriotic songs and humourous shows. Over 600 Nepalis from different walks of the life including students, professionals, businessmen from Beijing and other provinces of China attended the event.
The cultural programme featured Chinese students attired in traditional Nepali dress singing and dancing the popular Nepali song ‘Jaso Gara Je gara Jata Sukai Laijau Malai’ which encouraged a huge cheer from the crowd, whereas Nepali student too sang Chinese song that impressed over 100 Chinese guests participating in the event.
