Certificates of 7 ayurvedic companies suspended

Companies whose certificate was suspended for three months include Standard Pharmaceuticals and Nim Ayurved Pharmaceuticals of Butwal, Herbal Medisearch Pharmaceuticals in Rautahat, Jiwan Shakti Ayurved Company in Hetauda, Annapurna Ayurved Company in Pokhara and Chinayu Ayurvedic Medicine Company in Gajuri. The certificate of Sita Ayurved Center in Birjung has been suspended for six months.
Department's Director General Narayan Prasad Dhakal said they are also inspecting the medicines produced by the companies. "These companies did not follow proper production process and medicines produced by them pose health risk to people," said Dhakal.
The suspension comes in a bid by the department to maintain quality in the country's medicine companies.
There are 73 companies producing ayurvedic medicines in the country.
