Adikavi Bhanubhakta remembered

During the event held to mark Bhanubhakta's 203rd birth anniversary, various scholars, artistes and authorities, including the Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri, garlanded and offered flowers at the statue of the Adikavi Bhanubhakta on the premises of the Academy.
Also, Prof Dr Basudev Tripathi and film director Yadav Kharel were honoured in recognition of their contribution to Nepali language and literature.
The Chancellor of Nepal Academy Ganga Prasad Uprety discussed on the contributions made by Bhanubhakta, one of the luminaries of Nepal.
On the occasion, a rally was organized in the morning where Annapurna Higher Secondary School, Saraswati Higher Secondary School at Chettrapati and Internship International at Kamaladi were awarded for standing first, second and third respectively in the rally.
Earlier, a horse-drawn carriage with the portrait of Bhanu Bhakta mounted on it was taken around the city along with the playing of musical instruments.
In the course of the morning procession, Prof Dr Tripathi and film director Kharel were also given a ride on the carriage.
The Bhanu Institution has been carrying out a morning procession and giving a horse-drawn carriage ride to the personalities honoured on the occasion of birth anniversary of Bhanu Bhakta since 2033 BS.
Likewise, officials of the Education Council garlanded the bust of Bhanu Bhakta in the premises of the Durbar High School today morning. RSS
