Speaker Gharti directs govt. to inform House about Janakpur incident

Speaker Onsari Gharti directed the government to inform about the incident in the next meeting after lawmakers demanding time at Wednesday's meeting raised objections over the mistreatment of President in Janakpur.
Speaker Gharti said, "I ask the government to inform the next meeting of the Parliament about the mistreatment to the President in Janakpur as parliamentarians have objected it."
Seeking time in the beginning of the meeting, Nepali Congress lawmaker Ramhari Khatiwada objected over the misbehaviour of President and demanded investigation over black marketing, saying black marketing and corruption are taking place in the country and some 300 petrol pumps are in operation in the name of leaders.
Similarly, CPN-UML lawmaker Sushila Nepal said that although the new constitution has mentioned that there would be no discrimination to anyone on the basis of caste and gender, cadres of Madhesi Morcha mistreated to President Bhandari.
Nepal said, "The incident of mistreatment to the President is an affront to all the Nepali women and the women of the world."
She condemned the incident and demanded action against guilty, urging the Speaker Gharti to rule the government to inform the Parliament about the Janakpur incident.
Likewise, Sita Nepali of the UCPN (Maoist) and Kanta Bhattarai of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal also demanded action against guilty after carrying out probe into the incident.
Gita Chhetri of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik), Rajya Laxmi Shrestha of the CPN-UML, Kamala Bishwokarma of the CPN (ML), Anuradha Thapa Magar of the Nepal Workers and Peasants Party and Prem Bahadur Singh of the Samajbadi Janata Dal also demanded action against the guilty, saying Janakpur incident was the incident of serious violation of human rights.
Lawmakers of the SLMM picketed the rostrum soon after the beginning of the House and chanted slogans continuously till the meeting adjourned.
The next meeting of the Legislature-Parliament has been scheduled on December 27 at 1:00 pm. RSS
