Kathmandu
After pressure from various quarters, the Central Discipline Committee of Nepali Congress on Wednesday served a 24-hour ultimatum to lawmaker Amaresh Kumar Singh seeking his clarification over his remarks at a public gathering in Kailali where he had allegedly suggested that Tarai wants secession from Nepal.
The committee has asked Singh why he made such statement and why the party should not take action against him. The party has claimed that it has obtained an audiovisual clip of Singh’s speech that he gave at a gathering in Kailali on August 14.
