The study report recently carried out by the CIWIN, an organisation working in the sector of child rights, a total of 74 per cent girls and 91 per cent boys in the valley are found watching pornographic sites.
Porogramme Manager at the CIWIN, Bharat Adhikari, said that the children are found watching such sites due to increasing use of information and technologies and easy access to internet facilities.
According to the report released Monday on the occasion of the International Day for the Girl Child, out of 465 rape and sexual abuse occurred in 2013, 371 cases were related to girl child.
Out of 371 cases, 23.44 per cent cases were related to girls below 10 years and 1.93 per cent girl child was killed after the rape, states the report.
Similarly, 51 children committed suicide in the same year.
Around 95 per cent girl child become victim of sexual abuse at different places including home, educational institution and working place. RSS
