Kisan Shrestha, a Nepali migrant worker who was shot at outside the restaurant he worked at in Faridabad, India, last week, is undergoing treatment at Escorts Hospital.
Representatives from Akhil Nepal Bharat Nepal Ekata Manch and Help Mission on Tuesday reached the hospital and inquired about Shrestha’s condition.
Help Mission’s Chairman Kabi Karki said the Nepali Embassy in New Delhi has been notified about the shooting incident
Shrestha, who hails from Juluke VDC-9 of Arghakhanchi district, was shot in his thigh as he was emerging from the restaurant near Ballavghadh Chowk in Faridabad on the night of February 20. It is learnt that he had had an altercation with his employer over his salary days before the incident.
Claiming that Shrestha was shot by his employer, his relatives claimed that the man only provided IRs 75,000 and that he was unwilling to offer compensation and foot the medical expenses.
