Three people were killed in a mini truck accident at ward 1 of Jorayal Rural Municipality, Doti district, along the Bhimdatta Highway on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police Binod Sharma, chief of the District Police Office, Doti, said the deceased included the truck driver, Arjun Dhami of Dahbagar in ward 2 of Bungal Municipality, Bajhang. The identities of the other two victims are yet to be confirmed.
The truck, carrying food and retail goods, was en route from Dhangadhi to Bajhang when it veered off the road and plunged approximately 50 metres off the road at around 6 am.
Police said the bodies were still trapped under the truck and the goods. “The situation is beyond human effort, so preparations are underway to retrieve the bodies using an excavator,” said SP Sharma.Most Read from Sudurpaschim Province
