Gaurika wins silver in swimming

Gaurika Singh, who had already won two golds and one bronze in the 13th SAG, won a silver medal in women's 100m backstroke on Saturday. Manna Rajiv Patel of India won the gold medal in the event.


Sangita Dhami wins gold in wrestling

Sangita Dhami won the gold medal in women's 55kg wrestling in Janakpur on Saturday.


Nepal win bronze in women's cricket

Nepal beat Maldives by ten wickets to win the bronze medal in women cricket on Saturday. Batting first, Maldives could only make eight runs. Anjali Chand, who was declared the player of the match, took four wickets in her four overs. Nepal achieved the target in just seven balls.

similarly, Nepal won two bronze medals in women's weightlifting. Laxmi Ban and Tara Devi pun won the medals for Nepal in women's 81kg and 76kg category respectively. 

In fencing, Nepal won one silver and four bronze medals. Rubina Thapa and Asmita Basnet won silver and bronze respectively in women's individual sabre. Rama Singh was the bronze winner in women's individual foil. Januka Syangtan and Indira Poudel grabbed the bronze in women's epee. 

Earlier, Som Bahadur Kumal won the bronze medal for Nepal in 800m race.  

Kiran Singh Bogati wins gold in marathon

Nepal's Kiran Singh Bogati won the gold medal in men's marathon at the 13th South Asian Games on Saturday. Bogati clocked two hours 21 minutes and 17 seconds to win the gold. In the event, Indian runners Rashpal Singh and Shree Singh came second and third respectively. 

Also today, Nepali athlete Pushpa Bhandari finished second in women's marathon. She clocked two hours 50 minutes and 11 seconds to win a silver medal. In the event, Sir Lanka's Hiruni Kesha won the gold clocking two hours 50 minutes 11 seconds.
