Sakshyam Karki wins gold in Taekwondo 87-kg male category. He defeated Pakistan's Wakar Ali 27-9 in the event held as part of South Asian Games 2019.
Sangita Basyal wins gold in Taekwondo
Sangita Basyal won a gold medal for Nepal in the female 62-kg weight category. She defeated Indian athlete Gagan Jyoti 19-8 in the final.
Nepali cyclists dominate in men's and women's downhill cycling event
Nepali cyclists dominated the men's and women's downhill individual cycling event held at Sahid Smarak Park in Gokarna.
In the men's event, Rajesh Magar clinched the gold medal finishing the 1km race (55m elevation drop) in 1 minute 49.333 seconds while Nirav Shrestha and Prachit Thapa Magar won the silver and bronze medal respectively.
Likewise, in the women's event, Nishma Shrestha and Jamuna Thapa claimed the gold and silver medals respectively. While India's Yashodhara Madhukar Sherkar won the bronze medal.

Nepali athlete Deepak Adhikari won the bronze medal in the men's 10,000 metre run. Adhikari finished third behind India's Suresh Kumar and Sri Lanka's Shanmugeswaran.
