The Kanti Lokpath has been obstructed since Thursday morning after the access road to the Bagmati bridge on the Makawanpur side was swept away.
A diesel-loaded tanker, which was heading towards Lalitpur via the road, was swept away by a flood in the Bagmati River. The tanker is visible around 200 metres downstream from the bridge.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyamu Aryal, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Makawanpur, said that it will take some time for the road to reopen as the access road to the bridge has been washed away.
Likewise, a truck carrying kitchen goods towards Kathmandu via Hetauda has also been stuck in the river. It had been parked around 200 metres north of the Bagmati bridge, but was swept away by the river following heavy rainfall on Wednesday night.
Police also said that work is underway to clear a dry landslide that occurred near Bharyangdanda, close to the Thigan section of the Kanti Lokpath.
