Three Indian nationals arrested with unaccounted foreign cash

The Makwanpur Police arrested three Indian nationals with unaccounted foreign currency on Sunday night.
The suspects, travelling in a passenger EV microbus from Kathmandu to Hetauda, were stopped at a checkpoint in ward 1 of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-1. During the search, police recovered $12,000 from 40-year-old Vijay Singh Kushwaha of Uttar Pradesh, 14,000 Euros from 26-year-old Prashant Pathak of Gorakhpur, and 20,000 US dollars from 32-year-old Rahul Kumar Mandawat of Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.
According to Superintendent of Police Bishwaraj Khadka, the total seized amount is approximately Rs6.3 million based on Monday’s exchange rate.
The three suspects confessed to attempting to smuggle the unaccounted foreign currency to India. Deputy Superintendent of Police Shyam Aryal said the suspects will be sent to the Revenue Investigation Office in Minbhawan, Lalitpur, for further investigation and action.
