Traffic resumes along Mugling-Narayanghat road section
Passengers travelling through one of the busiest highways have faced hardship due to frequent disruptions for the past three days.Post Report
The Mugling-Narayanghat road section that was obstructed since the wee hours of Saturday following a landslide has opened for traffic.
According to Bharatpur road division office, two-way traffic along the road section resumed after the debris was cleared.
The road section, one of the country’s busiest travel routes, was obstructed from 3am today after the mudslide near Tuinkhola.
The highway which has been disrupted for the past three days, was closed for an hour following a landslide at 9am on Thursday. Traffic on the highway came to a grinding halt for 28 hours following a mudslide later in the afternoon.
Although the traffic along the road section resumed on Friday afternoon, the road once again came to a standstill as debris from a landslide blocked the section this morning.
Passengers travelling through the road section have been facing hardship due to frequent obstructions.
The road office has requested all travellers to adopt caution as risks of getting hit by falling rocks still persist.
Falling rocks hit two motorcycles soon after the traffic resumed on Friday.
Ramesh Prasad Poudel, chief of the Bharatpur road office, said the riders managed to escape unhurt.
