Habib Nadaf, a resident of Sonukhara Mahottari rural municipality-1, has absconded after killing his wife on Friday night.

Nadaf beat his 36-year-old wife Roshna Khatun to death while their six-year-old daughter had gone to her aunt’s home and fled with fear of being discovered, Dharmaraj Mudbhari, information officer of the district police office, Mahottari said.

The incident came to light on Saturday morning after their daughter returned home to find the mother dead.

Further investigation into the incident is going on, the police said.
