Police on Monday recovered the body of a 26-year-old woman in Panchthar.
The body of Yamuna Chapagain was found on the banks of Tamor river in Triveni Rural Municipality-2, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajan Limbu.
The victim had been missing, along with her 25-day-old baby, since Sunday. The whereabouts of the baby is still unknown, police said.
“She had allegedly left home for the Parewadanda health post at around 11am on Sunday to get the baby vaccinated,” said Jaya Bhurtel, the victim’s father.
Chapagain’s phone and some clothing articles were recovered from the banks of the same river on Sunday.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
