Province 1 Chief Minister Bhim Acharya resigns from his post
Acharya addressed the provincial assembly meeting on Monday and announced his resignation before the vote of confidence procedure began in the assembly.

Chief Minister of Province 1 Bhim Acharya resigned from his post on Monday.
Speaking at the provincial assembly meeting, CPN-UML leader Acharya announced his resignation.
The meeting was scheduled to decide on a vote of confidence on Monday. But Acharya addressed the assembly and announced his resignation before the vote of confidence procedure began in the provincial assembly.
Acharya, the parliamentary party leader of the UML in Province 1 assembly, resigned only after 68 days of his appointment as the chief minister.
The Acharya-led government fell into minority after 10 of total 51 UML members joined the CPN (Unified Socialist) led by Madhav Kumar Nepal in the 92-member provincial assembly.
