Police arrest a person from Dhankuta for allegedly hacking Nepal Telecom server

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Wednesday arrested a person from Dhankuta for his alleged involvement in illegally accessing the server of Nepal Telecom’s mobile app.
The arrestee has been identified as Diwakar Deuja, 28, of Dhankuta. According to the Bureau, Deuja after illegally accessing the system sold Nepal Telecom’s packages. The company filed a complaint on June 26 at the Central Investigation Bureau which later investigated the case.
“Deuja was found using untraceable internet technology to gain unauthorised access,” said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bel Bahadur Pandey, spokesperson for the Central Investigation Bureau. Police confiscated two laptops and two mobile phones from his possession.
Deuja worked as a computer operator in the Urban Development and Building Office, Dhankuta. He was sent to the Nepal Police’s Cyber Bureau in Kathmandu on Thursday for action as per the Electronic Transactions Act (2063).
