Nepali Congress has unveiled a 10-point summary of its pledges for the House of Representatives elections. The document outlines a vision for a dignified Nepal, where people have opportunities to dream, and the state promotes wealth and job creation.
It promises support for farmers, affordable education, and accessible healthcare. The party also pledges to uphold the rule of law, foster modernity while preserving cultural pride, earn international respect, and advance national progress.
Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa presented the summary at an election assembly in Janakpur on Wednesday. The full manifesto will be released on Thursday in Kathmandu, where Thapa will also answer questions on the pledge.
The party pledged to end discrimination based on caste, religion, gender, class or geography, encourage Nepalis abroad to return, and ensure transparent wealth generation while curbing illegal accumulation. Economic integrity and ethical governance are central commitments.
Congress also promises state support for agriculture, irrigation, fertilisers, insurance, fair markets, and global branding of Nepali products. In healthcare, treatment will be recognised as a fundamental right, delivered through an advanced health insurance system.
The pledge includes universal access to quality education, ending institutional partisanship, full digitalisation of services, respect for national diversity, and fostering equal, mutually respectful foreign relations. Environmental protection and inclusive participation in nation-building are also emphasised.
