Four judges recommended for Supreme Court

The Judicial Council on Tuesday recommended four judges for appointment to the Supreme Court to fill vacant positions on the country’s highest court.
The council recommended Ratna Bahadur Bagchand, chief judge of the Pokhara High Court, and High Court judges Chandra Bahadur Saru, Janak Pandey and Gokarna Dangi.
The four will be appointed after parliamentary hearings.
The Judicial Council is chaired by Chief Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma and includes Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sobita Gautam, Supreme Court Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla, and senior advocates Mahesh Kumar Nepal and Damodar Khadka.
